Adopting Poochie was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I thought I was giving her a home, but she ended up giving me so much more in return. We adopted Marley last year on July 13. We only had her for a little over a year. But she made such an impact on our hearts. Shes our first dog as a family. Adopting a senior dog was hard as we felt we didn’t get enough time with her. But I would do it again in a heart beat. She was the sweetest girl. So kind and loving and ours from the get go! She instantly got with our family and went everywhere with us. Our shadow anywhere we went. From the bathroom at your feet while on the potty, laying next to you in the sun in the garden. She was absolutely the chicle stuck to each member of our family. We don’t know her life before us. But we do know her life with us had to be the best one! Marley girl you are so missed! Oakes was my heart, soul, and health. He was a devoted and cheerful Multipurpose Service Dog that gave me independence and hope and helped me live with less pain. He was an accomplished sport dog and has piles of ribbons and medals from multiple sports. We had so much fun competing and training and made great friends. We traveled, he went up and down the west coast and to Mexico dutifully helping me. He was so loving, smart, goofy, enthusiastic, and always down to try something new, even learning to pull a cart. We were training for dog shows and never got to show, but he tried so hard at everything we ever did. I'm so lucky I had him in my life.

Kota (Lady K) was only five years old. She should have had so many more years, adventures, walks, snuggles, beach days and happy memories ahead of her. She was our best friend, our adventure buddy, and an irreplaceable part of our family. Kota was the sweetest lover girl whose whole world was Kyle and Ashlie. She lived for us, and we lived for her. She was our constant sidekick—coming everywhere and doing everything with us. We loved watching her play in the water like a little seal at the dog beach, play “football” with Kyle, join Kyle at lacrosse practices and tournaments, and hike Cowles Mountain at sunrise. No matter where we went, having Kota by our side made every moment more special. Our home and our lives feel unbearably empty without her.

Tadashi was a happy dog by himself, he loved to get up, go out and start enjoying. However, if we'd be going out after his morning walk, that's when he would be truly totally happy. He would howl, bark, make noises. There's no way to describe his happiness to be going out again, but that's what he loved to go. No words can describe losing our baby girl Armani Juju Rivera Jacobsen. My mother got Armani in Rosarito TJ with her pretty pink nose and hazel eyes I remember the night I saw her and when her little cry out connected us and I cuddled her all night even though she was so tiny she fit in my hand. For the past 15 years she has been my joyful affectionate dog who got to travel with us building memories and she was the glue to our family. Armani loved to always receive kisses from mom and dad to hold her in between us with a big hug. She didn't act like a dog, more like a human and you had to witness it to believe it but those who met Armani got to see how special she was. Armani for me was my daughter and I am forever thankful for her and the time she gave to me because she saved me and filled my heart with so much love. In her last moments she showed strength and fought for herself for some more time, and she got to witness us getting married and go on our last family trip. So, Armani and all the other angels that have left this world are all together playing and taking the long walks and that makes me feel a little better that she is no longer in pain. Thank you to everyone who helped Armani in her last moments, my family and truly appreciate it.

My family waited 2 weeks to rescue Ellie. However, she rescued us instead. She bonded with my children immediately upon meeting her and sat with my son the whole ride home. Hudson, my sweet, sweet Hudson, the center of our world, my “first born”, my soul dog and the best, most loyal friend. Hudson had a way of lighting up any room he went into and could put a smile on anyone’s face with that big derpy block head. We truly had to remind people that he was sick because he never showed it and he was always the happiest boy when he was with his best friends on the oncology team. Hudson crossing the rainbow bridge leaves such a giant void in our lives. He’s been there for every major moment… marriage, our first home, bringing home Coop - and all the little ones in between. I’ll think of him for every meal and wish his big drooling head was on my lap, every walk with Coop where he’s not there guiding the stroller, every visit to the beach where he was coined the ‘mayor of pb’, every time i come home from travel and he’s not there to “go crazy!!!”, when i’m no longer vacuuming every day or wearing his fur out on my clothes, and every night when he’s not up on the bed snoring like an old man & growling if andrew tries to reposition him. It doesn’t seem fair for cancer to take him from us after only 6 years with him, but I’m grateful for the joy he brought to everyone during even that short time. I know he’s in doggy heaven with all of the legacy Campana dogs enjoying steak, marrow bones, whimzees, and the dog park - just a few of his favorite things. Look down on your baby brother and keep watch as he grows up, Huds. we love you forever!

What can you say about the most amazing dog? Ghost was the bestest boy and best friend I could have ever asked for. He lived every day to the fullest and you would hardly ever catch him without a smile on his face. I adopted him at 2.5 years old and he was with me for almost 9 years, and those were the best 9 years of my entire life. He loved his humans the most, but his second love was his frisbee, followed closely behind by watermelon. We would also give him our yogurt or cottage cheese tubs to clean out for us. It was my favorite because he would lightly lick at it, then we'd say "take" and he would bite the outer rim of the container and take it to his bed. He would bury his face in the container until he got every single drop. He also had an affinity for pup cups and loved getting a sweet treat whenever his parents got coffee. He enjoyed going for walks and meeting all his dog friends in the neighborhood and never met a human he didn't like. He truly was the light of our lives and our hearts are forever broken. I am forever grateful for the time we spent together. It went entirely too fast, as time often does. To my sweet boy, we hope you are no longer in pain and you are running free across the rainbow bridge. We love you so much and miss you immensely.

Milo was the most sassiest, dramatic, and independent dog we had ever met. Until it came to treats and cuddles. He was our best friend and always made sure we knew it. When we would come home, we would compete for who Milo would scream the loudest for. He would bring us a toy and show his butt to us while wagging his Cinnabon tail. He would also make sure he got most of the bed and when we upgraded to a king, he made sure he took up most of that bed too (he was not a big dog). Duchess was the sweetest Boxer. So sweet I regularly called her "sugarplum". She was sensitive, loving, playful, talked to us with a "happy growl", and she loved to be curled up at our feet under a blanket. When she wanted something, she would lovingly paw at us to let us know. She couldn't wait for her morning walks, she loved to play "catch me if you can" during fetch, and she loved tennis balls so much she would roll around and wiggle on top of them on her back. My favorite memory of my Rusko was the entire 15 and a half years he was with me. By my side. Day and night. He used to wag his tail so much it would spin in full circles and even do figure 8s. From the moment we saw Sassy at Petsmart, we knew she was the last missing piece of our family. She had been there for months as a two year old black kitty, and at a shelter previously. We were looking for our second little house panther. She immediately rubbed against our hands through the cage, and we took her home. She was a little love from the start, and stayed that way for the rest of her life. We are grateful to have had a little over ten wonderful years with her. She was the sweetest little floof who seemed forever grateful and happy to be in her furever home and not a stray or in a shelter. She loved to be with my husband and I (I would often wake up to her loafed on me, or cuddled right next to me), enjoyed playing with her (adopted) sister Vera, and just being a cozy house cat. One of our favorite memories are her zoomies. She would run full speed from our bedroom to the living room, up cat towers then back down, and end up back in the bedroom. She would wind herself up and the long fur on her back and her entire tail would puff up. She looked like a cartoon Halloween cat. We will miss her sweet silliness and the love she showed everyday.

Starla was the most incredible gift i received 15 years ago. We were bonded from the moment we had seen each other. She was so emotionally connected to me. We did everything together from the time she was eight weeks old. I brought her to work with me in the salon. She was definitely loved in for all these years. Clients always graded her first she loved my family. she loved to steal, remote controls, and shred up toilet paper or any kind of tissue paper. She was funny. She was so sweet. She was smart, smart smart. She was literally my whole heart. Everything feels so small now that she’s gone. I just miss her so much and I cry for her because I love her so much. I want her to know how proud I was to be her mom and what a privilege it was.

Marley was truly a miracle and a fighter from the very beginning. At just four months old, he developed rare tumors on his head and underwent surgery requiring 48 stitches. Three veterinary surgeons worked on him and told me they had never seen anything like it in such a young puppy. Then, at only three years old, Marley was diagnosed with severe IMHA and was fighting for his life. He spent over 20 days in the ICU, received 13 blood transfusions, underwent therapeutic plasma exchange (plasmapheresis), had a feeding tube placed, and required a catheter in his neck for the plasma treatment. At the time, no one expected him to survive. But he did and was my little fighter who wanted to live. But thanks to Dr. Robb and the incredible team at Ethos, Marley beat the odds. You didn’t just save his life you gave us eight more precious years together. Those years were filled with unconditional love, laughter, adventures, and memories that I will treasure forever. I am deeply honored that you want to display his photo on your survivor wall. I hope his story serves as a reminder that miracles do happen and that the extraordinary work you do changes lives not only for your patients, but for the families who love them. Please see attached photo. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Dr. Robb and every doctor, technician, nurse, and staff member who cared for Marley during his darkest days. Her show name was Ch. Zooropa Laureate Beautiful Day, but to us she was known as Solntse, Russian for Sunshine. She greeted the world with her signature head toss, a paw placed gently on the cupboard door in hopeful pursuit of cookies, and the charming habit of always leaving behind a single green bean at the end of dinner. Small rituals that became treasured pieces of everyday life. She gifted the world not only with her beauty, but with legacy — two beautiful litters carrying forward her spirit and elegance. And what a mother she was. Even with her very first litter, while still almost a puppy herself, she cared for her babies with patience, devotion, and tenderness beyond her years. Her children never stopped adoring her, greeting her still with kisses and affection throughout their lives together. She truly earned the nickname “Mama.” Solntse delighted in life’s small rebellions too — quietly stealing Christmas toys from the stairwell and carrying them off to bed as though they had always belonged to her. She was muse and model, immortalized in portraits, bronze sculptures, and Borzoi educational materials, her likeness capturing the nobility and softness that made her unforgettable. A jetsetter to the very end, she traveled in extraordinary fashion to her final home at Goodnight Trail in San Diego, beloved enough to warrant her own private flight. Fitting for a girl who never moved through life unnoticed. Some dogs pass through our lives. Others leave their pawprints upon our hearts so deeply that they become part of who we are. Solntse was one of those rare souls. She will forever be loved, forever remembered, and forever present in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.

Hayes, a Greyhound rescue from the Caliente racetrack in Tijuana, came into my life just as my wife of 35 wonderful years passed away from a prolonged illness. For the next 6 years of his life Hayes was my constant companion and best friend. Although he faced many serious medical issues of his own throughout his all too-short life, regardless, he remained a joyful, devoted companion, a beacon of unconditional love, undeterred and eager to live every minute of his life with me to the fullest. Hayes loved to go on walks, especially to the parks where he could meet people. He eagerly greeted anyone so inclined with a jump-up kiss on the face and would readily cozy up to anyone willing to take a moment to scratch his head, neck & ears. He was even known to “kiss” young children in strollers gently on their lips. He also loved to chase the seagulls and crows in the park. Even after his front leg amputation for cancer, he ran almost as fast on three legs as he did on four! Needless to say, he was also a great resource for me to get in a good workout as well. To say he was a blessing to me at a critical time in my life would be an understatement. Hayes truly did more for me than I ever did for him. He embodied the quote on a bumper sticker I once saw that said, "I didn’t rescue my dog, my dog rescued me”. I miss him tremendously each and every day but, I take solace in the fact I know he is in a better place, happy and healthy until we meet again.

Buddha's life was full of adventures. He went on cross-country road trips and flew from coast to coast. One of my favorite memories with Buddha was celebrating his birthday each year. He loved spending his special day at Fred's in Old Town, where the dog-friendly menu and welcoming staff always made him feel celebrated. Buddha lived a long, happy life surrounded by friends and family who loved him dearly. Although he wasn't here to celebrate his 15th birthday this year, almost 30 people gathered to honor his life and the joy he brought to so many. He is deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten.

A Tribute to Tanuki: The Velvet Juggernaut Some dogs bark at the door. Some dogs scratch at the door. Tanuki? Tanuki shattered the door. She didn't ask for permission, and she certainly didn't wait for invitations. If a door was closed, it was simply an obstacle to be demolished. With the structural integrity of a bowling ball and the sheer willpower of a freight train, she lived her life lead-first. She was a creature of absolute focus and zero compromise. If you were too slow on the draw with the snacks, you didn't get a polite whine—you got a swift, tactical headbutt straight to the back of the knee. It was a beautiful, chaotic reminder: The clock is ticking, the chef is slacking, and the tribute is due. Tanuki was a 10-out-of-10 heavy metal soul trapped in a tiny, wrinkled chassis. She ran on pure octane, spite, and hunger. The house is a lot quieter without the rhythmic thud of a pug skull testing the structural integrity of the drywall, and the backs of our legs are safer—but the world is definitely a lot less rad without her. To the ultimate furry battering ram. Rest in power, Tanuki.

Sid was the sweetest boy to ever live. He always had a snaggle tooth smile, loved to sploot his little legs out, had the cutest little fringe “grinch” paws, the kindest eyes, and a heart of gold. He was a rescue and would follow mom around everywhere, attached at the hip. He loved having his butt patted and would spend all day laying on his back on the couch if he could. He loved to go on walks and car rides, especially when it meant he was getting an in n out patty or Starbucks pup cup. He was loved by everyone he met and lit up a room everytime he came in, leading with his tail wag. He was the best friend anyone could ask for.

Fur is family in our home. That's why we're sharing a family Halloween photo from three years ago because Ollie is family. He didn't love dressing up, but he was ok being a part of it (sometimes glitching and emulating a statue when constricting costumes were on). Ollie went everywhere we were allowed to take him where it wouldn't be an issue. Road trips to Mammoth, the Grand Canyon, local beaches, and any dog-friendly restaurant what would cook him a burger. You didn't need to ask twice if he wanted a Pup Cup from a coffee shop. Ollie was a friend to most (sorry huskies!), and a magnet for attention. His tail wags were legendary, his ears and eyebrows empathetic, and even though he didn't love the car ride, he was always happy to see his friends at Ethos. It's easy to be sad about the last days, but we take solace in knowing we had so many good days until the end.

Phoebe was 16 3/4 years old. She loved lounging in the catio for hours, getting her ears and her belly rubbed. She would stand on her hind legs and beg for her favorite foods. She loved sleeping on her mom's fuzzy black blanket. She actually barked at people to get their attention. Her favorite foods were braunschweiger and tuna water. She loved the smell of mint, but didn't care for catnip. She loved eating rose petals. She knew her name and if you blinked at her, she would blink back. She would appear at exactly 12:30 for her midnight snack. She was a sweetheart. Her mother, father and littermate, Zoey will miss her terribly.

There are so many wonderful memories with Odin. The one memory that we will continue to bring us so much joy is his love for everybody. Wherever we took him he would bring so much joy, and awe to their faces they would often ask us to take a photo.He was truly majestic.
